Application notes

This 395nm UV light requires six AA batteries, not included. It reveals compatible Ceramic Glow tracers as an application aid; it cannot establish remaining coating durability. Avoid shining UV light toward eyes or skin.

How to use

  1. Install the specified six AA batteries with correct polarity and inspect the light before use.
  2. Use only to inspect coatings with a compatible Ceramic Glow tracer. Keep the beam away from eyes and avoid unnecessary skin exposure.
  3. Scan the treated section to locate coverage differences, then inspect the finish under ordinary visible light for high spots and streaks.
  4. Turn the light off after inspection. Treat fluorescence as an application aid, not a test of the remaining protection.

Aftercare and maintenance

Wipe the lens gently and keep charging connections dry. Avoid directing intense light into eyes. Follow the supplied battery guidance, and remove replaceable batteries for extended storage where recommended.

Does fading UV glow mean the coating has failed?

No. Adam’s specifies the tracer as an application aid. Substrate, lighting and film characteristics affect fluorescence, so glow intensity does not measure durability.
