How to Apply GYEON PPF EVO
Confirm the film is ready. For a new installation, follow the installer's waiting period and the film manufacturer's coating guidance before beginning.
Wash and decontaminate. Remove dirt and contamination using products compatible with the film. Do not use a paint-polishing process automatically on PPF, especially matte or satin finishes.
Dry and prepare. Remove trapped water from edges and seams. Use GYEON Q²M Prep as directed on compatible film, then wait 15 minutes before coating, following GYEON's current instructions.
Apply to a manageable section. Work on a cool, dust-free surface in the shade. Load the supplied applicator sufficiently to spread a consistent layer without leaving missed areas.
Level promptly. GYEON instructs wiping as soon as the coating begins to sweat. Remove excess immediately at that stage with suitable clean coating towels and inspect for streaks or high spots.
Protect the early cure. Keep rain, condensation and washing water off the film for at least 12 hours. Follow the supplied manual for the remaining cure and first-wash requirements.
Care Tips and Application Precautions
Check compatibility with any factory-applied film topcoat and test an inconspicuous area first.
Do not allow excess coating to harden on the surface. Smaller sections make levelling and inspection easier.
Avoid direct sun during application and plan for overnight dew if the vehicle will remain outside.
Use a pH-neutral shampoo for routine washing and avoid abrasive cleaners, particularly on matte and satin film.
Remove bird droppings, insects and other contamination promptly. Protection does not eliminate maintenance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does PPF EVO replace paint protection film?
No. It coats the film's exposed surface. It does not supply the thickness or physical barrier of PPF and should not be treated as a replacement for film against stone impacts.
Will it make matte or satin PPF glossy?
GYEON lists compatibility with matte and satin PPF and describes it as protecting without adding gloss. Test your specific film first, especially where preserving an exact sheen is important.
Can I coat a freshly wrapped vehicle immediately?
Ask the installer when the film is ready. Installation moisture and the film's own requirements are separate from the coating's cure period; there is no single waiting time suitable for every installation.
Is one 50ml bottle enough for my car?
GYEON's consumption guide is approximately 30–50ml per car. Actual use depends on vehicle size, how much film is installed and application technique, so a large vehicle may need additional product.
Can I apply it outdoors?
Yes, in suitable stable conditions. You need shade, a cool clean surface and a way to keep moisture off the coating during the first 12 hours.
Does coated PPF still need washing?
Yes. Regular gentle washing removes the dirt that can mask water repellency. Clean and inspect the film before assuming reduced beading means the coating needs replacing.

PPF EVO is designed to go onto grabby and porous film surfaces, making it very easy to remove. If you've used a paint coating on films before, you'll notice that films will absorb coatings at an uneven rate, making it difficult to buff off and will leave a haze.
All GYEON coatings can be applied outdoors. Ensure stable conditions, never use in direct sunlight and check the weather forecast!

Layering time is between 1 to 4 hours, and full curing occurs within 48 hours. You can take the vehicle out after 12 hours.
You'll use slightly more product than regular paint coatings because you want to apply more for the film to absorb into it as well. For a mid-sized sedan, you'll use around ~25 ml per coat; the 50ml bottle will be sufficient for you to do 2 layers.
The vehicle can be driven the next day, or approximately 12 hours later. It is advisable to avoid exposing the coating to water within the first 24 hours.
A temperature of at least 10°C is recommended, although you can still attempt the application between 5°C to 10°C if necessary. If the temperature reaches 30°C, then it's on the warmer side, and you will need to retreat into the shade.
Wash with GYEON PPF Wash; this is a decon-soap that is effective at removing contaminants without the need to use a clay bar (which can scratch your film). Top it with GYEON PPF Maintain to keep the water beading and prolong the coating's resistance to film yellowing.
High spots refer to dried coatings that were not completely buffed off. If you catch the high spots within 30 minutes, you can use the coating itself again to level/soften the high spots. If it's been a few days, then you'll need to mechanically polish it off with PPF Renew and reapply coating on the affected area.
Officially, Gyeon recommends the product to be used within 2 to 3 years when new. If the bottle has been opened, it's best to use up the product in 1 to 2 months to preserve the coating's maximum effectiveness.

Make sure to use a little more product than regular paint coatings because films are much more porous than paint. You want enough product to be absorbed into the porous film as well and not only sit on top.
PPF EVO is a flexible coating that penetrates the film and will not affect the film's self-healing abilities. If your film already has a hydrophobic coating on it, it's encouraged for you to apply PPF EVO over it to prolong its OEM hydrophobic layer.
