Vs. DLUX and skin?
Both DLUX and Skin focus on hydrophobicity and gloss maintenance, while also offering some UV protection. They are both excellent for their intended purposes, with DLUX particularly excelling in high temperatures, making it ideal for wheels. However, DLight takes UV protection for all plastics and PPF to the next level. We specifically targeted the most harmful UVB rays around 313nm, which are responsible for the majority of surface damage, and ensured that DLight lasts up to 3 years in real-world conditions, giving you peace of mind about the coated surfaces.

DLight lasts up to 3 years in real-world performance.
DLight’s primary focus is headlights, as transparent plastic is particularly prone to visible UV damage. However, it can be used on any plastic surface to extend its lifespan. This includes Paint Protection Films (PPF), where DLight prevents soil and dirt from penetrating the soft surface of the PPF, significantly extending its lifespan by protecting it from UV damage.
If the water beading has stopped, it doesn't necessarily mean that the coating is gone or that UV protection is no longer effective. Water beading is a characteristic of hydrophobicity, which can diminish over time due to environmental factors like washing, abrasion, contaminants, or exposure to harsh elements. However, the UV protection might still be active, as it is embedded in the coating and doesn't rely solely on the hydrophobic effect.
If you're concerned about the longevity of the protection, you may want to check the surface for any signs of degradation (such as fading or yellowing) and consider reapplying the coating if necessary.
CARPRO Reload can be applied during the first few hours of curing if the vehicle is expected to encounter rain or water. However, be sure to wipe Reload gently and avoid buffing too aggressively.
A 30ml bottle is sufficient to apply two layers on a small-sized vehicle.
Generally, CARPRO Dlight should be the topmost layer. You can use CARPRO CQUK, SiC, Dquartz Go, or similar coatings as a base, then apply Dlight as the final layer. Regardless of the number of base layers, always apply two coats of Dlight.
Yes, it is highly recommended to apply CARPRO Dlight over vinyl decals to prevent fading and oxidation. This is especially useful for RV and boat decals, as these vehicles spend most of their time exposed to the sun.
A general rule of thumb is to avoid water contact for24 to 48 hoursand refrain from using soap for a week. However, after the coating is applied, you can take the vehicle out immediately. Dust and wind won't have much effect, but it's important to be mindful of bugs, which can impact the finish. If you're a business coating a vehicle for a customer and it must be exposed to water within the next 12 hours, you can very gently wipe it down with Reload or Release. We still recommend against it, but sometimes it's necessary. It's important to understand that drying and curing are distinct processes. While the coating or panel may feel dry to the touch right away, curing involves the molecular locking process, and it requires time to fully cure.
A temperature of at least 10°C is recommended, although you can still attempt the application as low as 3°C if necessary. If the temperature reaches 28°C, it's on the warmer side. Ideally, you want the coating to remain on the panel for at least 2 minutes without flashing right away. If it flashes within a minute, it's likely that the panel is too hot.
No, simply ensure that the panel is free from dust during application and that there is no water or moisture present after application.
You can use products like Reload, Elixir, Reset, HydroFoam, Hydro2Lite, etc., as frequently as you'd like. The only product to exercise caution with is Reset; be sure to adhere to the dilution instructions. Using too much of any soap can potentially impact the effectiveness of the coating, wax, or sealant, as it is, after all, a detergent.
Dlight can be topped up yearly if need be as well.
Previously, it was labeled with a 2-year expiration date. However, CarPro no longer includes an expiration date on the product, primarily because coatings are solvent-based and highly chemically stable. So, for practical purposes, let's consider a shelf life of 2 to 3 years for now.
Once the bottle has been opened, it should be used up within 60 days.
Dlight can be applied to all exterior surfaces, including paint, plastics, PPF, metal, chrome, carbon fiber, glass, and vinyl. There are no limitations.
No problem at all. Coatings contain a significant amount of solvents and exhibit high chemical stability. For more details regarding winter shipping, please read our FAQ section on winter shipping.
