You see it whenever you drive in the direction of the sun; usually in the morning or the evening. It's a cloudy film on the inside of your car windshield. You might have wondered where  this film comes from.

Over time, the plastics in your car release chemicals into the air. It's called “off-gassing” and it’s what we have endearingly labelled as that "new car smell". Yes, that new car smell is a cornucopia of different chemicals leaching from the plastics and seat foam from your car's interior. The most common chemical is PVC (Poly vinyl chloride).
