Trim Restoration

Not only does DLUX protect trim from etching and discoloration, but it also contains a secret ingredient to restore plastics to a rich, satin finish.

The recommended wipe-off time on smooth surfaces is between 1 to 5 minutes; ensure it does not feel tacky or sticky during wipe-off. On textured plastic surfaces, simply apply and leave it to dry. You can return to quickly even the finish if you notice any streaks.

CARPRO Cquartz Dlux Wheel Coating

CARPRO Cquartz ceramic coating for trims, wheels, metal, exhaust tips, brake calipers etc.  (Heat resistant up to 500C+)

Treat alloy wheels, faded plastic, and rubber trim with CQuartz DLUX to restore their rich, glossy finish, and give them the lasting hydrophobic nanotechnology protection these surfaces deserve. Applications like this withstand a lot of abuse so CQuartz DLUX was given a thicker film build than conventional CQuartz coatings, and a 50% silica content by volume. When applied to plastic and rubber trim, CQuartz DLUX helps to restore their gloss and color, and protect them from future fading. On painted, polished, or chromed wheels, CQuartz DLUX resists brake dust and road grime, eliminating the need for dedicated cleaners. Protects treated surfaces for up to 1-year between applications.

CARPRO DLUX FAQs

Yes, it not only provides protection but also restores.

Wheels can be painted, chrome, powder coat, naked aluminium, anodized etc., so why not on paint (body)?  Fair point.  Technically you can, but won't be as durable as say, CQUK, on paint.  That's because Dlux has other additives in it for it to bond better to multiple types of surfaces mentioned above, and needs to have the chemical make-up to darken trims whereas CQUK doesn't need all of the additional 'stuff', it can purely focus on Sio2 content, gloss and durability.  But can I use CQUK on wheels then?!  Sure, if it's clear-coated, but sometimes the face of the rim or spokes are cleared but with a raw barrel finish.  It's just best to stick with DLUX, you can do your trims at the same time, might as well!

Yes, you can, but does it make it 'glossy'? No, it won't. Imagine putting lotion on your dry hands; it rehydrates and enriches the skin without making it oily—that's what DLUX will do. Matte finishes will remain matte, but the complexities will look richer. When working on matte finishes, do not let the product set for too long; wipe on and wipe off with no set time.

When it comes to matte wheels, it's essential to coat them. The challenge with matte surfaces is their texture, which tends to attract dirt and debris, making them harder to clean than smooth surfaces. Coating them with DLUX helps maintain and protect the matte finish.

Yes, see above.

Wheels: Chrome, metal, aluminium, steel, anodized, powder coated, Titanium, cleared, painted etc.

You can also apply DLUX on brake callipers, exhausts, suspensions, fake plastic chrome, head lights etc., anything exterior really, besides windows.

IronX, Reset, and Hydro2 Lite.  Hydro2 Lite can be used monthly to keep the coating going and the winter salts off.

You should, you're applying something that hardens after all.  Missing a spot would result in high spots (can be hand polished off with Carpro Fixer).

A 30ml bottle can typically do eight 18" x 9" rims, or one set of wheels, twice. The larger 100ml bottle be found here.

Depending on how many coats, how well it's maintained and how the rims are used, can range from 1~2 years.

A general rule of thumb is to avoid water for 24 to 48 hours and refrain from using soap for a week. However, after coating, you can take the vehicle out immediately; dust and wind won't affect it, but be aware that road tar might. If you're a business coating a customer's vehicle and it must encounter water within the next 12 hours, consider very gently wiping it down with Reload or Release. While it's not ideal, sometimes it's necessary. It's important to note that drying and curing are distinct processes. The coating or panel may be dry to the touch right away, but curing involves the locking of molecules, requiring time to fully cure.

No, just make sure there’s no dust on the panel during application, and no water/moisture post-application.  And in the shades.

It used to be 2 years, but Carpro no longer stamps an expiration date, because coatings are solvent based and very chemically stable. Let’s just say 2~3 years for now.

There's no official guideline on this, but as a general rule of thumb, once you've opened the bottle, solvents can begin to evaporate, and in some cases, the product may start to crystallize inside the bottle. Therefore, we typically recommend using up the bottle within 3 months. I can personally attest to having coatings from a while back, and while they still 'work,' they become notably challenging to buff off. Let's just say their hydrophobic properties didn't last as long.

Are you referring to interior hard plastics, such as dashboards? No.

Yes, if the surface is glossy and smooth, such as piano black finishes.

No problem at all. Coatings contain a significant amount of solvents and exhibit high chemical stability. For more details regarding winter shipping, please read our FAQ section on winter shipping.
